"An Awesome Book of Thanks" by Dallas Clayton has quickly turned into one of my most favorite children's books.  I read this super adorable, meaningful book to my nieces preschool class a few weeks ago and could not get over both the meaning and imagery. How AWESOME is the title of the book!?  Clayton has also put together the most fabulous website full of inspiration, creativity and fun, very awesome world (you got that right, Dallas!) Thanks for shining your light Mr. Clayton!
(ps. this book is perfect for those who support montessori education. the message is simple and beautiful. nothing hokey :)

This about sums up our weekend.

November 29, 2010

Aside from a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I pretty much spent the remainder of the weekend on the couch in a sick stupor.  No fun whatsoever, but at least I had this snooze hound and a wonderful husband to take care of me.  Seriously, you know your hubby's a keeper when he's happy to rub your back while your head is half way in the toilet.  I'm feeling better and am ready to take this week on.  Tomorrow I'm back in the classroom :) Have a great week!

It's incredibly cute and simple yet adds so much to your thanksgiving decor.  I've been googley eyed over party garlands for quiet some time now and this name garland over the chair is perfection.  I also adore the what i've eaten check list. Every detail l I just love. Oh, and the vintage chairs- i die.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Chalkboard frame is now in it's place.  And finally, we're able to use our super cute tree branch hooks from urban outfitters.  Welcome to our house :)

DIY project: chalkboard frame!

November 15, 2010

An old frame and some paint goes a long way, eh?  I painted the gold frame a fun, vibrant yellow and spray painted the glass with chalkboard spray paint.  Thats it. So simple, yet amazingly vibrant.  We have a nice little space by the front door to hang this cute new home addition.  You could also hang this in your classroom for a fun little job chart, or something of the like :)
