Lets be real

September 16, 2011

I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately, not because i'm lost, but because I think it's important to continually evaluate yourself so you can continue to grow, evolve and mature into the person you're destined to be.  The weird thing was, it got me thinking a lot about this blog.  First off, I love having it. I love knowing that there is a place for just me to write, release, share, express and create.  What I HATE about it is the pressure to be a "blogger."  So, the very first thing I did before writing this post was go through old posts and delete the ones where I'm trying to be something i'm not. Any style post i've done- gone. I am not a fashion blogger, nor do I want to be, so why in the world did I make those posts? I like fashion as much as the next person but that doesn't make me a style expert.  I want this space to be a place where you can see who I REALLY am. I want to be honest and true. Silly and fun. Heartfelt and cheesy- because all those things, well, they're me. So from here on out I'm not putting the pressure on myself to be anything but me. Who cares about perfect blog design, followers, comments, yada yada yada. It's all so silly.  This is my blogging promise to you- What you will see is who I truly am.  I'm going to stop looking at other bloggers as something to strive towards and instead look at them as the inspiring women they are - That we're all unique and offer something special because of our differences in passions, clothing, DIY projects, mothering, wife-ing, area's of expertise.

This blog is about my husband and I
This blog is about my love for children's fashion and design
This blog is about my family
This blog is about kids and teaching
This blog is about my love for coffee
This blog is about flea markets
This blog is about my baby fever
This blog is about creativity
This blog is about me

Thanks for sticking around while I worked out the kinks.

  1. I love how honest you are about this because I think that is a common struggle with this "new" thing of blogging. It's not "new".. but so many "new" blogs have come about recently in the past couple of years that it's "new" to a lot of people; therefore, we're all figuring it out as we go along. It seems to be similar to college: some of us know right away what we want to do, & some of us need to double major & change our major 5 times before it hits us on the head what we should have done from the start (I'm probably the latter!) ... plus, it's refreshing to clean house, so to speak (since your blog is your second home)!

Thank you for coming by and taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful day!
