As our personal home style has really grown and actually gotten a personality over the years, I have loved snapping photo's here and there of 'home.' I would love to do an actual photo home tour but for me, home never feels 'done.' As we change, so does it and I kind of love that about the space you occupy. For me, our house is a reflection of who we are and it has been a growing experience seeing how our home has shifted from a house that was lived in by two to now three. For some people home is simply the place you keep your belongings and sleep, but for me, home is the heart of our family. It's where we are intentionally creating memories and sharing life. It's where we welcome friends and family and where we find the most comfort. Home. What a sweet sweet place.

ps. I just realized there is a plant in every single photo. I may have a problem....

We've been in our house for just over 3 years now which by most everyone's standards is not long at all. For me though, it's the longest I've ever stayed in one place as an adult out on my own. I love our home, all that it means to us and what it has become. We've just started playing with the idea of possibly moving but in the meantime, I am working on re doing some of the rooms in our house to keep our home feeling fresh. Ya know, moving plants around, rearranging furniture, adding a new area rug, etc. I think a big part of why i'm getting antsy for a new space is because I'm sick of the same thing. Styling a new home from scratch is one of my most favorite things and maybe why we have been dreaming of a new home - a blank canvas.

Has anyone ever done anything similar? It sounds crazy but I'd love to move all our furniture from the main floor out (hey neighbors,) redesign the space with fresh eyes, then bring it all back in. I'd also like to get rid of 40% of our belongings so our space feels completely clutter free.  Slowly we have been gotten rid of so much stuff and it really does feel amazing to not have so much. (It's all so unnecessary anyways. Less really is more.)

ps. if you are interested in seeing how we live and love in our home, i've got a fun little home hashtag via instagram : #thehousebythebridge

The other day I could tell Ru was feeling a bit antsy so I set out to create something with her that we could pull out anytime we needed a distraction or some simple fun. We had an empty water bottle laying around and some rice, dry beans and noodles on hand so we made a music shaker. The best part was that Ru was able to pour the rice in (with a funnel) and put the beans and noodles (one at a time - great for concentration and fine motor skills) all on her own! After we filled the bottle she shook to her hearts desire with the biggest grin on her face. It is the easiest DIY on planet earth. Have fun!
